This song is one of my faves from Sabrina Carpenter, and it has a complex meaning that I didn't understand at first. But I think I do now.
This song, in my opinion, is about two romantic partners getting sucked into their relationship. They lose themselves in love, and then when the going gets tough, they're afraid their partner will leave them. Since they've fallen so deep in love, that kind of heartbreak scares them. But, hence the song name, they did it on purpose.
